Аннотация: Presented are the results of studies on the electrocapillary curves of aluminum in the 2.56NaCl-KCl melt and polarization dependencies in the Al - (2.56NaCl-KCl + 0.5 wt.% AlCl3) system upon changing the aluminum electrode potential in the absence of current by adding various amounts of NaF to the melt. It is shown that with the adПоказать полностьюdition of NaF to the melt, the most probable existence of two types of aluminum- containing ions, AlF6³⁻ and AlCl4⁻, occurs, and upon addition of sodium fluoride, the aluminum potential shifts in the negative direction. In the absence of NaF and at its content of 0.1 wt.% in the melt, when the aluminum potential at zero current corresponds to the ascending branch of the electrocapillary curve, Marangoni instability emerges under cathodic polarization; at higher NaF concentrations, when the aluminum potential at zero current corresponds to the descending branch of the electrocapillary curve, it emerges under anodic polarization. These facts confirm the results of the linear analysis of Marangoni instability in electrochemical systems.
