Аннотация: A novel tunable platform for the experimental investigation of topologically protected optical edge states was proposed. The platform comprises a tiling photonic topological insulator assembled from identical glass prismatic resonators. An active element based on a cholesteric liquid crystal cell, functioning as an electrically conПоказать полностьюtrolled optical switch, was integrated into the structure. The cholesteric cell enables switching between two states: direct beam propagation through the resonator at whose boundary the cell was integrated, and a bypass trajectory. The operation of the switch was experimentally demonstrated, and the spectral characteristics of the system were measured for both cubic and hexagonal array configurations. The cholesteric switch was shown to operate more efficiently in the hexagonal array.
