Аннотация: The article evaluates the effectiveness of a distance determination system based on the Time of Flight (ToF) method using Ultra-Wideband (UWB) modules in underground tunnel conditions. Experimental work was conducted to measure distance and assess coverage area under Line of Sight (LOS) and Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) conditions. The Показать полностьюobtained data allows for the determination of distance estimation errors introduced by walls, tunnel vaults, and turns, as well as the range of the method in complex conditions with limited visibility. UWB technology is resistant to multipath signal propagation due to its operation with wideband signals. Tunnel geometry and obstacles affect C-band waves through reflection and absorption. To inform miners about approaching vehicles, the authors propose using a combined distance determination system. The ToF method is used for measurements at distances greater than 30 meters, while the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) method at frequencies of 8-125kHz serves as an auxiliary method for distances less than 30 meters.
