Аннотация: Residents of the Russian Arctic, particularly the Indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, face an elevated risk of various chronic and infectious diseases, predominantly associated with inflammatory processes. Cytokines, as key immune factors, exert their effector functions at inflammatory sites. Genetic factors play a signПоказать полностьюificant role in this context by regulating cytokine gene expression ( IL5 and IL10 ). This study demonstrates that specific polymorphisms (rs2069812 in the IL5 gene and rs1800872 in the IL10 gene) confer genetically determined protection against the development of allergic diseases in the Indigenous inhabitants of the Russian Arctic compared to the non-indigenous Slavic population.
