Аннотация: The need and demand for landscape mapping in large scale for the purposes of territorial nature protection in Altai (Altai Krai and Republic of Altai) are discussed. Though the landscape approach has a number of systemic advantages under scientific grounding of the establishment of Special Protected Natural Areas (SPNA), the changeПоказать полностьюof their borders, environmental monitoring, management and other related activities, it is still insufficiently applied in the Region. The authors have made first steps in this direction through mapping some sites of the Tigirek Strict Natural Reserve and Sailyugem National Park, cartographic identification and substantiation of unique landscape units as potential conservation objects (e.g. nature monuments) within the administrative regions.
